Our Kitty

Back around Christmas, we felt a lump on our kitty's jaw. We also noticed that she has lost some weight. Chris assumed it was an abscessed tooth but my assumption was much worse. Unfortunately, I was right. Chris took Siren in on Dec 30 and we learned that she has cancer. Our vet said that the lump was making it difficult for her to eat and that she would eventually starve to death. He gave her about 1-2 weeks.

However, we just passed the 3-week mark and she's doing as well as can be expected. She does have a hard time eating. The tumor is making her eye bulge a little bit, and it forces her to stick her tongue out. She's continuing to lose weight. But she seems happy and comfortable, so that means we must be doing something right. We're just taking it one day at a time.

She's already had melanoma (hence the clipped ears). I feel sad that she's having to go through this again.
