New Beds For Everyone

We recently scored an awesome loft bed for Owen. He gets to climb a cool ladder to get into bed, and the space underneath is his country. Yes, he refers to it as his country. We didn't teach him that... not sure where he came up with it! Who knows, maybe I am raising a future president. I'm fine with that, as long as he grows up to be a Republican.

For now, Owen's country consists of a rocking chair, bean bag, a few stuffed animals, and some really rad LED lights that change color. He earned those for being such a good kid. I plan on making curtains to enclose the area, and at some point we'll probably stick a small desk under there. I'm kind of jealous. It's a neat set-up.

On Logan's birthday, we set up the twin bed in his room. Logan had been showing quite a bit of interest in Owen's bed, so we figured it was time to make the switch. Owen switched to a twin bed at 22 months and the transition was very easy. So we were hoping Logan would be easy too.

And he's been great. It's been a week now and he's a champ. In fact, he's even easier than Owen because we can put him in bed wide awake and he'll put himself to sleep. Sometimes he'll get up and grab a toy, but he puts himself back to bed without us having to say anything.

So, two new beds for two fantastic boys. Lots of exciting changes!
