Laura in South America

My sister is currently working on board the Prinsendam, which is literally sailing around the entire continent of South America. The cruise lasts 66 days and Laura only has one child participating in the Club HAL program (because who takes their child on a 66-day cruise?). Since she's not too busy, she's had time to get off and explore some of the amazing ports of South America.

Thanks to the internet, she's been able to keep us updated on her travels. I had to share a couple of pictures that she uploaded today. They were docked off the small village of Boca da Valeria in Brazil. Laura quickly became surrounded by a group of small children who fell in love with her. Which doesn't surprise me, because Laura is wonderful with kids. She said she spent most of the day playing with them, and was able to shower them with gifts. That's the beauty of being in charge of the kids program on the ship: Holland America goodies. My kids have a bunch of these items too :)
On a side note: the ship became stuck on something today. The captain backed up and discovered that a full-sized tree had become stuck in the rudder. Hope everything is okay!

We're so happy that she's out seeing the world. This voyage will even make one stop in Antarctica. Not many people can say they've visited that continent.

my mother in law and some other relatives took a cruise a few years ago that took them to Antartica. The pictures are amazing. I thought anyways. I love your posts about her. How fun to be doing that! She is lucky!!!!
