Patching Eggs

Owen and I were making cake pops last night. He was naming all the ingredients we'd need, and eventually he got to the eggs. "You need to patch the eggs, Mom," he said. I repeated, "Patch the eggs? Do you mean crack the eggs?" He continued to insist "patch".

After a little Q&A session, I learned that he actually means "hatch". And that hatching an egg is the same as cracking an egg. Which I suppose is correct. And very funny. And it's even funnier that he pronounces it the wrong way. I'm totally using that from now on!
