Chris took Owen to his four year check-up yesterday.
The stats:
Height: 44.5 inches (over 95th)
Weight: 44 pounds (93rd)
He's doing great.
The doctor asked if Owen can count to 5. Why, yes he can. In fact, in December he counted to 100 for the first time. Actually, he made it to 112. And he can count to 10 in Spanish.
The doctor asked if Owen can speak 4-5 word sentences. Um, sometimes his sentences are so long that we have to look at the clock and wonder when he will be finished.
The doctor asked if Owen knows his colors. He's had them mastered for about 2 years now, and lately he's been informing us that red and blue make purple, and that red and yellow make orange. Etc.
The doctor asked if Owen knows at least 5 shapes. The kid can tell you the difference between a pentagon, hexagon, and octagon. Circles and squares are for babies.
He had 4 immunizations, and took them like a man. Not even a flinch. For that, he earned a new Hot Wheels car.
Owen amazes us in so many ways. He's so interested to understand how and why things work. He'll say something totally brilliant, to where Chris and I will ask each other "did you teach him that?" We love our smart little boy :)
