Mr. Potty Trained

Logan potty trained himself in two days. I can't believe it.

A few months ago, he's use the potty here and there... he'd ask one of us to take his diaper off and he'd run in and use his little potty... he'd go standing up, which was always kind of funny since boys usually learn sitting down. But we never pushed any formal training, because we felt he was too young and not interested enough. And we don't think diapers are a big deal, unlike so many parents that complain about them all the time.

Earlier this week, something clicked in that little mind of his and Logan decided that he was done with diapers. Over the next couple of days, we just sat back and watched the show. He did everything himself with very little coaching. He didn't expect any treats or rewards (but certainly didn't say no when we offered him a Hot Wheel for his first poop). It was the easiest experience ever, but then again, just about everything with this child has been easy.

Yesterday morning I hid the little potty to see what he'd do. He was unhappy at first, but when I pointed out the special seat that fits on the regular toilet, he started using it. He's had no accidents, and we're confident enough in his new skills that we're officially finished with diapers.

The one drawback to this experience: Logan has turned into a little streaker. Owen never went through that phase, so this is something new for us. I'm constantly putting his underpants back on him, but much of the time this is what we get to look at:
(And he knows shoes aren't allowed in the house!)
